Another reason for this is that with older units, it is likely that the combustible materials that are used in the flue liners will deteriorate over time. Most high-efficiency boiler installation models are able to maintain a constant temperature of about 1350 degrees F, which is still warm enough to heat most residential spaces. This can be achieved by using a variable control thermostat that is either manually or automatically adjusted based on outside temperatures. With most models, the controls on the thermostat are color coded to indicate what room the unit is in. This is an important safety feature as well, as it helps prevent the possibility of an emergency burning out. Some newer models have an automatic shut off feature which ensures that the heating system does not work if the electricity is out for long periods of time.
